New & Different in Downtown Mesa
06/20/2011
Downtown Mesa is getting noticed, and for all the right reasons. With articles in the Tribune on our offbeat businesses, in the Arizona Republic, on AZCentral.com and MLB.com about the Cacti on Parade sculpture in downtown Mesa to celebrate Major League Baseballs All-Star Game in Phoenix and the New Times articles about The Royale and local performer, Becky Bodacious' support, you know things are happening in downtown Mesa. Downtown Mesa Association's new website and logo have even gotten some of the press with an article on AZ Central.
So, if you haven't been to downtown Mesa in a while, don't assume it's the same old place. In the past year and a half, seven new restaurants and cafes have opened just along the Main Street corridor. Cucina di Vita, Urban Picnic, Vinyl Rush Cafe, Downtown Rendezvous, The Grill on Main, Sugar Shack, FroYo and Gotham City Comics & Coffee have joined the ranks of Sweet Cakes Cafe, Mangos, de la Cruz Bistro, Queen's Pizzeria, Kirks Sportsgrill, Inside the Bungalow and il Vinaio. Every one of these locally owned and operated offers fresh and unique options for dining in downtown Mesa.
Ecclectic shops like Evermore Nevermore, The Rusted Nail Gallery and Sun Dust Gallery have created a unique business district that is encouraging other business to move to downtown Mesa. The Royale, Monsterland, and HeatSync Labs will soon join the already funky Main Street. The Nile Theater, Mesa Amphitheater and the Mesa Arts Center offer downtown performances and concerts to rival any in the valley and the Arizona Museum of Natural History and the Arizona Museum for Youth are a cornerstone for cultural and educational programs.
There's so much new in downtown Mesa, you have to see it for yourself!
